Pau d'arco testimonials![]() Due to strict new Government rules surrounding the use of customer testimonials and any reference to claims involving natural products we have removed our dedicated testimonial page and any information regarding health benefits that may be obtained from the teas however we read and treasure the many wonderful stories our customers have sent to us in the past and urge you to still do so. We would urge anyone wanting to further their research regarding the teas to read some of the very well written books that cover just about all aspects of pau d'arco, Ojibway tea, Rooibos etc including stories of their use, preparation, properties, folklore and very interesting history, and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing more information. They can be found in many bookstores including on-line ones such as Amazon and Chapters. We have posted interesting herbal tea articles and information gathered from various sources on our Articles page for your general interest. Pau d'arco FAQ'S![]() Answered by Roger DeLong 1. HOW LONG WILL THE TEA LAST IN THE REFRIGERATOR? I prepare the tea one gallon at a time and keep it in a glass pitcher. It lasts indefinitely without change. It lasts infinitely longer than commercial type teas since it is immune to fungus. The shelf life of the bark is indefinite. 2. HOW MUCH TEA CAN I DRINK? Many drink four glasses (8oz.) each day. You can increase or decrease this amount depending on how you feel. Some people drink as much as a whole gallon of the tea each day with no discomfort. Some People believe that more is better. I don't disagree... 3. IS PAU D'ARCO TEA IRRADIATED OR TREATED WITH PESTICIDES? The Pau d'arco tea (inner bark) is harvested from the Rain Forests in Northern Brazil. It is a "natural" product. HerbCares Pau d'arco tea is not irradiated or sprayed with pesticides. The herb that is imported from the botanical company in Sao Paulo, Brazil is lab tested at their facility for bacteria and other contaminates. The government of Brazil (agency called IBAMA) inspects and regulates botanical products exported from their country. The bark is also inspected and cleared by Customs upon arrival. Re-use the pau d'arco grinds![]() For the thrifty minded... You can increase the use of the bark by 50 percent if you reuse the tea grinds a second time. I've talked to several long time users of the tea and they report that they extend the use of the tea by making a second batch of the tea using the original grinds. I suggest that you add a small amount (maybe a tablespoon per quart) of new tea to the old tea grinds and boil a second batch of the tea. Strain and mix the two batches together and you have an equally effective brew. More economical use of the herb... Customer TipA great strainer to use for straining your pau d'arco tea is a yogurt strainer, it can remove all the tea debris leaving a much clearer liquid for those of you who don't like the "floaties".
